Forgive me...

Since my last post on Aug 1, I'm afraid there have been a whirlwind of activities around our house.
We just began homeschooling this week (yea!), and so far we are all having a pretty good time.

We finished out July with one of our cousins visiting from Houston. And we made LOTS of chocolate chip cookies...

You can see Wonder Woman below preparing to lick the spatula.

Yum...best recipe ever. Make it every time. Never disappoints.
 We had fun baking. Yea!
Meet our cousin...we watched lots of movies. And Superman was always the silly one.

The kids started the month of August with a bang...they passed around strep throat like it was a Christmas present. It started with Superman, then went to the Homerun Kid...and finally Wonder Woman had it last. It was by far, the worst strep ever. Superman got the right antibiotic to begin with...to the tune of $80. Ouch. But the other two started out with the wrong antibiotic and we ended up back the doctor for something different. Both of them still had fever over 100 after five days. I think one of the worst things is to see your kids suffer with any sickness, but fever for sure.

I can't imagine having a child with a terrible illness or disease...to watch them suffer with surgery and hospitalizations. I think it would tear my heart out.

Wonder Woman battled severe asthma for 6 years of her life. Six, very long years. To struggle to breathe must be terrifying. And there were many nights we spent up with breathing treatments, sleeping in a chair sitting up and praying the whole night through...

She was healed in 2011...and hasn't struggled with asthma since. Yes, healed. It was a miracle of God. Here. On earth. And after what we witnessed as a family in her healing, none of us will ever be the same. And oh, we are so grateful for His miracle. We thank Him every single day.

So...hopefully, we're back. I'll be doing some more posts, hopefully more regularly...and eventually I will finish the 40 days of cleaning out. I've actually still been doing it, but not posting, so I just need to get back up to speed. Taking care of sick kids for two weeks took up all my time. And sick kids need their mommy to help them feel better.

  1. Oh no! I hope everyone is better! My nephew was sick too and he started wheezing... he's had to take nebulizer treatments, but he's better now It was his second incident with the wheezing so they're monitoring him and hopefully it's nothing too scary. I wish I could just take it all away from him and have it myself!
