What I was wearing when I met Kendi...that's right, Kendi Everyday

So husband and I had the opportunity to sleep in until 9 a.m. Sunday. And in case you are wondering, we went to church Saturday night.

So, after a yummy breakfast and our coffee process (it's a process and it's absolutely necessary), we decided to head to Costco for a few things.

I didn't venture out too much from my pajamas, because part of what I love about Saturday night church is the relaxed day we have Sunday. Ahhhh. It's like a big, long sigh.

So, I put on my gray, corduroy, HUE stretch pants (bootcut), and my Mickey Mouse shirt (I LOVE the fit; and would prefer a solid color, but I love the fit), and a nice, long, gray cardigan. So far, so good, I'm thinking to myself as I'm getting dressed. Then I put on my cute, camel hat with leopard flats and I felt more than pretty good.

Let's forget that I didn't do my hair or makeup. I still felt pretty good. This outfit is basically my signature home-style for weekends. My go-to outfit for Sunday. So comfy, but somewhat stylish; at least that's what I tell myself. And since I feel good in it, I think that's like 90 percent of what makes it work.

Until, standing in the TV section right by the entrance to Costco, I see her. I see her walk in.
And, yes, she is very tall in real life.

It was Kendi from Kendi Everyday.

And I was kind of trying to figure out when I would say hello to her or if I would or what I would say. And then I realized I wasn't dressed. Well, I wasn't standing there naked, but I mean, I wasn't dressed like she was. AND SHE WAS. Pastel skinnies, off-white lace top, and a blazer with some cute, nude heels.

So as we turned onto the next aisle I stopped my husband and went through the quick explanation of who she was and that her blog was perhaps my #1 fave and I stumbled onto her blog in the emergency room Thanksgiving night and figured out she lived nearby.....and on and on and on in pretty much a rapid fire, no punctuation, machine gun assault. How he made sense of it I have no idea, except that, he gets me. And I get him. And I like that. Anyway...

And he said, "you gotta say something to her."

And I said, "I know. You don't. You do not say a word."

And he disregarded that last part and promptly stopped her (and her husband and family) with a very Texan, "Excuse me, do you have a blog? Because my wife reads it, and she's too afraid to say anything to you!"

And then he told her I wanted to start a blog too. And she said I should with a friendly smile all over her face. It was the most genuine "you should" I have ever heard. And I was so impressed/happy/grateful that she was as nice in real life as she is on her blog.

And so...that's what I was wearing when I met Kendi...that's right, Kendi Everyday. It wasn't spectacular. Not by a long shot, but it was me, on a Sunday. I get dressed the rest of the week and head off to work, so I feel just fine going out to Costco on a Sunday in more relaxed attire.
