Cruise Wear

On our cruise I attempted to take a lot of photos of my outfits. Problem was, there was little space in our room...and thus, lots of photos of me in the mirror with a bright glare from the flash.

We had two fancy nights...elegant nights... they call them.

One of them I wore this...and since husband likes to coordinate sort of, you can see what he wore as well.

My dress is a Kenneth Cole, one-shoulder, floor-length, maxi-style dress. It's got an elastic waist, that makes it fantastically flattering and pooch hiding. Since it was floor length, I didn't have to worry with fancy shoes. I just wore my dressy flip flops, if there is such a thing...

What I ended up with...

How I ended up wearing my bubble necklace last week...and a different shirt than I originally planned. 

I actually loved this outfit...and will probably put this into my regular rotation as we continue to have 100+ temperatures here in Texas.

• Maxi made by me...with this great fabric from Jo Ann that has the appearance of denim
• Black & white tank from Target...old

A little help from my friends...

For casual Friday, I am writing for help...your help. I have had these fantastic shoes for, um, well, one year. And I have never worn them. Not once. Not once, people. And I intentionally hunted these shoes down when they were in the store because I WANTED them. 

So these shoes have been in the box...they haven't even graduated to the clear, plastic boxes that I have all my shoes in...because I can't figure out how to wear them.

People, this is not a problem that  I often have. I always can find an outfit to wear with a new pair of shoes...or any pair of shoes for that matter.

 

So, I need to know what to wear these with...or if I should abandon them altogether and sell them. Either on eBay or at the local resale shop. 

Thoughts? I would greatly appreciate them.

Post pool casual: maxi dress

We spent the day at the local athletic center pool. Then we had to rush to gymnastics and such.  I ran home to throw something dry on so I could sit and watch my girl at her class. This is a great dress for that. It's a maxi dress from Old Navy. On the sale rack it was only $10. Yea! I put a lacy tank under it, because it's kind of low and flowy in the front.

I put on this headband from J.Crew and big sunnies. Flip flops were the shoe of choice.

Not great photos today. Sorry about that. At least I'm finally getting dressed. Sort of. :)

Casual Friday...

My life is pretty casual these days. Swimsuits, tanks, tees, khaki shorts...those are my staples. Considering I'm not quite out of my pajamas yet, here's what I'm going to wear for this casual Friday.

Denim sleeveless shirt
Black maxi skirt
White tank (pictured is gray)
Wish list shoes: Blowfish 

When, oh when, is H&M going to offer online shopping in the USA? When, I say? Because the two new stores open in my part of the country are always packed with people and the checkout line is enough to make me put all my treasures down and leave...sigh...
