Whole30: Day 1-2
So, after doing some research over the last several months, I decided somewhat spontaneously last month that I would begin to incorporate principles of the Whole30 into my life. The Whole30 is based on the book "It Starts With Food" by Dallas & Melissa Hartwig. Basically, it's a lifestyle change that resets your body and your tastebuds.
I have the book ordered and am eager to read it, though you can follow the plan by going here.
For me, I'm just tired of feeling tired, craving sugar and knowing there is something better out there than the way that I feel.
Even though I was loosely following the plan for May with cheats here and there, I could already begin to tell a different in the way I felt when I did cheat and go off the plan. What it revealed to me is that there are some foods that just need to be in my diet very little or not at all. And based on how I feel when I DO eat them, I'm okay with not at all. It's just not worth it to feel that bad.
I'll go into more detail, but for today, this is day 2 for me. The top photo is last night's dinner and the other photo was breakfast.
Dinner:
Salad boat with homemade Whole30 compliant dressing
Chicken tenders crusted with pistachios
Spaghetti squash with Whole30 compliant pesto
Breakfast:
Two eggs
Olives
Sweet potato
I'm still learning as I go. If you're interested at all in feeling better, you should definitely look into this. I avoided it for so long thinking I couldn't do it or didn't want to. Then one day I woke up tired of feeling so tired, and I think I'm hooked.
Happy Whole30!
