Sixth grade, third grade and kindergarten.
Whew.
I woke up today and almost talked myself out of starting when I walked into the school room and found my desk covered in half completed lesson plan notebooks...and a myriad stack of papers yet to be put in each kid's binder.
After all, we had plans to meet a special friend of mine at the pool at noon, so our school would be cut short anyway.
Nevertheless, we went with plan a and proceeded with school. It was a decent day. Decent because the kids were super chatty. And as a result, I had to be super snippy.
I was dubbed cranky today.
Perhaps if they stopped chatting so much, and asking off-topic questions, and picking at each other, and interrupting...perhaps then I would have not been quite so, um, cranky.
So we took a few silly, and definitely not fancy, photos.
I may not have spoken with kindness at every single moment today as I hoped to do. And I may have lost my patience more than once. Or more than 100 times. I can't be sure.
Still, I am so looking forward to this year together...the homeschool journey is so rich to me. It's so full of life, adventure, service and exploration. I really can't wait. I guess I don't have to...we're already there.
One more day I am reminded of the beauty of homeschool.
Super-Spiderman thinks that kindergarten must include superheroes and villains.
Homerun Kid decided to draw a mustache on his face seconds before photos. Seriously.
And the Wonder Woman of many expressions...

Homeschooling---a call and a commitment---a gift. Sorry about getting called cranky...oh well... love slipping into "school" today. Linked next to you at Em's. God bless.
ReplyDeleteI applaud you for homeschooling , I am a teacher and I think it would be a lot harder with my own children. Love the pics. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteXoxo,
