Wonder Woman turns 7!

Sweet girl. It's hard to believe you are 7. I won't ask where the time goes, because that's a waste of my breath. The moments I get to spend with her, and with the other two blessings in my life, are moments. Fleeting. Once they are gone, they are gone. Time is the only commodity that once spent can never be earned back, won back, or regained. It's gone. Forever. Precious are these moments. Precious are these days.

Wonder Woman, you amaze me. You delight me, intrigue me, perplex me, and bring me great joy.

Our celebration of your 7th birthday was a wonderful time, and oh, in that one night you taught me so much. And I already feel like I wasted that opportunity to really do something special with you and your friends. And yet, I did the best I could at the time, but I learned. Oh, I learned.

That is what you are, dear one. You are my teacher.

What I wish for you to know...now that you are 7...

1. You are uniquely created by God. He knows you by name. He knew you before you were formed inside of me. Jeremiah 1:5
2. Your creator desires a relationship with you much like you long for a best friend, a kindred spirit. He wants you to turn to Him first and always. If you seek Him, you will find him. And this relationship will be more rich and rewarding than any other you will ever have. Jeremiah 29:13
3. He has great plans for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you HOPE and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.
4. There will be plenty of people along the way who are not worth your time or your energy. True friends and the man God has chosen for you will always encourage you to be more like Christ. They will lift you up, they will point you to Him. Anything other than that means they are not HIS best for you. Do not waste your time on them.
5. Love everyone. That is how you can be like Christ. Love does not mean be a doormat. It does not mean to allow abuse. It does not mean to stay when you should leave. Love means show compassion, kindness, pray for others and be generous. I Cor. 13:4-8
6. Hiding God's word in your heart is the second greatest use of your time, behind praying and talking with God. Psalm 119:11
